Airports
Ideally situated between Alicante and Valencia Airports, you have the choice of many of the leading Budget airlines to get to us. Alicante is slightly closer (about 50mins) than Valencia (about 80 mins away) and is usually our first choice if prices are similar.
Both Ryanair and Easyjet operate to Alicante and Valencia from a variety of British and European airports. Both offer cheap, no frills (or thrills) flights and the flight time is a little over 2 hours from most UK airports.
We STRONGLY recommend booking as early as possible to get the cheapest flights. We are flexible on changeover days, so go for an 8 or 15 day break if the flight times and prices are better for you.
Car hire is not essential, but clearly desirable. Using the suggested firm below you should be able to hire a small car for about £8 - £12 a day. Even a 2 week hire of a small car would probably be cheaper than the return Taxi fares to either airport, and you have the added benefit of use of it throughout your stay. ALL the car hire firms at Alicante and Valencia airports operate a "Full to Empty" fuel policy, so be aware that on arrival you will also be asked for an additional (approx) 60 Euros for a tank full of fuel, and will be expected to bring it back close to empty. You can ask for "Full to Full" on short trips of no more than 4 days and will be refunded the fuel costs when bringing the car back full.
INSIDERS TIP: I ALWAYS HIRE A CITREON BERLINGO OR SIMILAR.
It costs no more than a Ford Focus, but comfortably seats 5 with loads of head room, easy access and a HUGE boot which will easily take all of your luggage. Ever tried squeezing 4 or 5 suitcases into a hatchback?
There is a Bus service from Alicante airport to Calpe, and I will send you a timetable etc on request. It is seasonal, and goes via Benidorm.

Firstly, directions from Alicante.
Driving directions. Alicante Airport -Imperial Park, Calpe
(Nearly every car hire firm is on the ground floor of the car park. These directions are from that level, if you collect your car from the first floor then after paying for the car park and exiting through the barriers go straight on at the junction and follow these directions from paragraph three)
Leave car hire centre and set trip meter. Turn right.
After 0.2 km, take first left signposted E15/A7 Benidorm.
The road divides into two lanes. Bear right on this road to take the Valencia road. This is a motorway type entry and will be signposted Benidorm and Valencia. Join motorway A7/E15 signposted Valencia.
After 21km, there is a road tunnel. Signs will say A7 Benidorm. At 27km, there is a toll booth. Avoid lanes with blue signs, as these are for prepaid tolls. Collect ticket from booth and continue on road.
At 48km, you will see the tallest hotel in Europe on right, based in Benidorm.
At 51.8 km, you will see first signs for Calpe. At 64.5km, the N332 for Calpe is signposted. Bear right and leave A7 to join N332. At exit, pay toll with earlier ticket. It is usually 3 Euros 80 cents. Keep in right hand lane on leaving toll booth. The entry to the N332 is an extremely windy (hard i!) road. Join N332.
At 69Km, there is a Mas y Mas Supermarket on bend on right. Continue straight on. Go under series of mountain tunnels. At 74.3km, turn off right to Calpe.
Go straight across first roundabout. You will pass a car lot on the right. Caprabo Supermarket is on left.
Go straight across next roundabout.
At 75.3km, there is a traffic light junction. Go straight on.
At 75.6km, there is another roundabout. Turn left at this roundabout.
Go straight across next roundabout. The tennis club will be on left.
Go straight across the next roundabout.
At 77.3 km, there is another roundabout. Take first exit and bear right.
At 77.7km, there is another roundabout. Take second exit.
At 78.6km, you will see entrance to Imperial Park on left. Turn left and park. Go to reception and collect keys.
DIRECTIONS FROM VALENCIA:
Directions From Valencia Airport to Calpe (80 mins)
When you come out of the terminal and walk towards the car hire car park you will see, at the roundabout, the flyover you need to take. On exiting the car hire car park you will need to do a quick lap of the airport to get to that roundabout and onto the flyover, and follow the blue signs towards Madrid/Alicante. You should soon find yourself heading west on the A3 motorway.
STAY IN THE NEARSIDE LANE! After only a mile or 2 you will see a fingerboard pointing off to the right signposted Valencia, DO NOT TAKE IT but immediately after it is another junction off, with only a fingerboard saying E15/A7. It is very easy to miss, but you want to take it. Once you have, get over into the outside lane as the road soon splits and you want to be going to the left towards Alicante. Take care to continue towards Alicante via the E15 Mediterranean route and not the A4 via the Interior which branches off just south of Silla. Exit the A7 motorway at junction 63 (Benissa/Calpe). The cost for the motorway road toll is currently 8 euros.
From junction 63 at Benissa get on to the N332 coast road and follow the signs southbound towards Calpe. This is a road with sharp bends in places so take care. As you approach Calpe you will come to the Calpe Sur (south) exit, ignore this and continue a few hundred yards to the Calpe Norte exit on the left hand side which is more or less opposite the BP Petrol Station. Turn left at this point and head towards Calpe and follow the directions from Alicante above, from paragraph 9 that begins "Go straight across first roundabout"
