Calpe is a delightful town with many restaurants and bars, a Marina and harbour and great shopping. We are able to personally recommend many of the restaurants to you, including one that sells the best fillet steak you will ever eat, as part of a four course meal for under £10!
Calpe has two Blue Flag beaches, one either side of the Rock of Calpe (see the picture gallery) both of which have wide pedestrian only promenades full of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops.
Both beaches have permanent volleyball nets, football goals and children's climbing frames. Loungers and parasols are available for daily hire.
Nestling behind the beaches (and in view from our Villa) is a salt marsh nature reserve, which at certain times of the year is host to a huge flock of Flamingos.
The Marina has a wonderful restaurant, and at the neighbouring harbour you can see the boats bring in the catch at 4pm daily, watch it being auctioned on the quayside at 5pm and eat it at 6pm at one of the Harbour front restaurants, where a 3 course meal with wine starts at 8 euros.
The villa is one of 72 privately owned houses at Imperial Park. Imperial Park itself has wonderful facilities. In addition to the pool complex, there is a restaurant and bar and in high season, a poolside cafeteria and bar. There is a mini-market on site, a full launderette, an internet cafe and regular entertainment programme in high season including a kids club with lots of daytime activities. Free courtesy buses go to four locations in Calpe Town (and back) four times a day. There is a prestigious Balnearia spa at the complex, boasting state of the art spa facilities, a gymnasium and a superb beauty salon.
